As I stream now on a daily basis it’s naturally for me to speak about it. It is quite a ride and I am leaning everyday and make mistakes which is great and I will make an update on this topic later on for sure because I think it is so much to learn.
first week of streaming was hell

The first week of streaming was hell honestly. I wanted to make sure that at least if the people don’t get a proper picture - I could give them a proper audio. Which worked out but when you freshly start out you are not used to check on every detail of all the technical issues. So you have to make sure that everything is working and you are live on the platforms that you want to be live on. Yes, sometimes you can be live somewhere else if the settings are wrong, been there done that XD.
If you plug your headphones to the mic section you can use it as a mic
The people that watch you want to engage. I had no mic till recently and also didn’t know that headphone mic worked on the mixer! What?! Yes! If you plug your headphones to the mic section you can use it as a mic but the quality is not astonishing. So you have to speak and answer to the people. Like that you feel connected to them and they feel entertained and connected to you.
My anxiety or stage fright what? who? is gone.
Oh yeah and there was something else while you’re checking out all of this things I’ve mentioned above, you have to mix the tracks. And also manage to find and decide what you play next. It is a lot but by reaching my limits I actually see what I am capable of doing and getting better at. My anxiety or stage fright what? who? is gone. I learn how to speak to people, how to entertain them and find words. I started to like my own voice, I had always an issue with my voice before, I hated it.

I get love and I get hate
Mostly there are amazing people out there that support, motivate and speak to me which I am really thankful for! But there are recently also a little hate around, and it is very new for me so I learn also how to deal with that. We tend to focus on the negative experiences because of our defence mechanism. Our brain tries to protect us from negative encounters that can hurt us in any way. So yeah even if it is one comment that is insulting it stays in my mind for some time, but like I said I learning to deal with that too.
Some accounts get banned for weeks for playing tunes… I mean tunes, no violence, TUNES!
The Game of not getting kicked out or banned
This struggle with social media copy right policy is a mess really. Facebook is a nightmare of its own with no clear guidelines. Some accounts get banned for weeks for playing tunes… I mean tunes, no violence. TUNES! My account just gets kicked off the livestream but luckily I can post the video. And there are also some accounts that surprisingly get a notification from facebook while the livestream that some particular tracks will get muted on the posted stream video. WHAT? I was surprised too! Why do some accounts get the privilege and some are not?
Some people even got kicked off by playing Bootlegs
We don't even know what we can do right or wrong. And I also heard from fellow DJ’s that Sometimes they can play the same tunes that they got banned before and won't get kicked off the livestream. Some people even got kicked off by playing Bootlegs, this is insane. I’ve heard of some problems over Youtube as well but I have no experience with Youtube yet. I stream right now over Twitch and DLive. Twitch just mutes the copyrighted tracks, no matter what and its nice! Dlive is very new and it has a music section that is starting to evolve now, jump on if you are reading this! They work with crypto currency called Lino. You get awarded for streaming and also can get Lino’s from users that enjoy your stream and I think this is awesome! It works also over OBS.
Creating nice vibe
First I had just my flag as my background and had to put my camera and light in order every single day. So I decided to redecorate my room completely for my own sanity. I ordered coloured lights, and a little magnetic disco light, which you can’t really see too much, but I still like it. I put my flag behind the curtains so you can see it a little bit and my light is not reflecting from the window. I have also a cheerleader silver thing that I wave with just for fun and recently got myself some bunny ears which I find funny but don’t feel always comfortable to play with.
